About Season Fair
Season Contemporary is a Detroit-based nonprofit art fair and cultural initiative focused on building market infrastructure for artists, galleries, and cultural workers. Founded and directed by Amani Olu, Season approaches cultural development through the demand side of the art ecosystem — expanding opportunities for sales, visibility, and professional growth.
Season’s programming operates year-round across three interconnected platforms. Season Fair is an annual contemporary art fair bringing together regional and national galleries, collectors, curators, and cultural leaders to strengthen Detroit’s contemporary art market and expand access to new audiences and buyers. Season Office, located in Detroit’s Core City neighborhood, operates as a gallery, workspace, and convening platform for creative workers, independent practitioners, and cultural entrepreneurs.
Season’s inaugural year demonstrated the model: $90,000 in verified art sales across 12 galleries and 10 artist booths, $135,000 raised, 25 local jobs created, and more than $360,000 in total economic impact.
