Season Fair Grew from Seeds Planted by Detroit Art Week in 2018

Season Fair traces its roots to Detroit Art Week, a citywide program established to celebrate Detroit-based artists, galleries, and cultural institutions. Presented in 2018 and 2019, Detroit Art Week ran two acclaimed editions that elevated local voices while connecting Detroit to a global art community. Though public programming formally concluded, the mission—to expand equity and access in the arts—endures.

Today, that mission lives on through Season Fair, now an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit and Detroit’s first contemporary art fair, launching September 25–28, 2025. By bringing together leading galleries, artists, curators, and cultural leaders, Season Fair is designed to showcase Detroit’s creative ecosystem within an international context.

Your support ensures that financial barriers do not prevent deserving artists and galleries—particularly those who are emerging, new, or historically underrepresented—from accessing this platform. Every contribution is 100% tax-deductible and directly supports exhibition and programming costs.
