Season is a Detroit-based 501(c)(3) contemporary art fair and cultural initiative dedicated to building a sustainable creative economy for artists, galleries, and cultural workers. Founded and directed by Amani Olu, Season takes a market-driven approach to cultural development — focusing not only on artistic production but on activating the demand side of the art ecosystem.

SEASON TALKS

Presented by The Shepherd, Season Talks will bring together 30 artists, curators, writers, and cultural leaders for eight panel discussions at Season Fair, September 26–27, 2025. Over two days, participants will explore Detroit’s cultural narratives, reimagine artist economies, consider new models of collecting, and interrogate the role of criticism in contemporary art.
